A Student Version of NX is now avialable... 5

There have been questions about the availability of Student Editions of NX in the past and while the 'official' public announcement from Siemens PLM Software has yet to be made (it has been made internally however), since the vendors which are going to be acting as the distributors of this product have already updated their websites, I guess we might as well 'let the cat out of the bag', as it were ;-)

So if anyone is interested in something like this, or they know someone who might be, below are links to the two current educational software suppliers who will be acting as authorized distributors for the Student Versions of NX. Please note that there are strict criteria which must be met before the software can be purchased at the student price. Also be aware that Part files created by a student version will be electronically 'watermarked' so as to make them incompatible with fully licensed versions of NX and that all plotted output will be visually 'watermarked' as well so that there is no question that they came from a Student Version of NX. Also note that post-sales support will be provided by the vendors, NOT Siemens PLM Software.

"The NX Student Edition has been developed as a single-user solution. The
Student Edition includes the complete suite of NX modeling, drafting,
assemblies, and rendering capabilities, with NX Product Template Studio,
complete documentation and self-teaching aids. NX Student Edition is
delivered with a simple license install and a click-wrap license agreement.

Part and assembly files created with NX Student Edition are tagged and
cannot be opened in production versions of NX. Prints from NX Student
edition are automatically watermarked."

Will the Student Edition be available on Linux and Mac?

As I can read in the links, it seems it will be available on Windows OS only.

For now you will have to assume that it will only be available on Windows. If that changes, I'm sure that you'll hear about it.
