Hi,

I'm relatively new to ADAMS and am trying to simulate a belt and pulley arrangement in A/View.

I suspect it's something to do with discrete flexible links. I have modelled the level 1 system laid out in the paper "Efficient Modeling of Extensible Cables and Pulley Systems in ADAMS" by Dr Andrew Elliot. But how do you wrap the flexible links around one or more solid pulleys?

Any help would be much appreciated!

There are no flexible links in a Level 1 system.

So i'm guessing you want a Level 2 system, in which case you need to look at the refs in the paper. One mthod might be to build the system loose and then tension it up at the start of a run with a MOT statement.

Often in A/View I build the model roughly, then export it as an adm file, and use that as the basis for a spreadsheet generated adm. I then re read the adm back into View.

If you post your model here I will take a look at it, if it is 2008r1 or earlier.

Cheers
