When talking about large pipie diameter and high yield materials, could you say ASTM A860 Fittings are the same as of those MSS-SP75 FITTINGS? or they would be different?
i have been told MSS SP-75 are usually cheaper than ASTM. Is that correct?
What would it be the tech difference, if any?
thank you for your help.

ASTM A860 fittings fall under the dimensional requirements of MSS SP-75 (or ASME B16.9). The ASTM covers things like the chemical, mechanical, and manufacturing properties of the fittings, but it does not cover the dimensions or tolerances. Those are covered under MSS SP-75/B16.9.

Normally, we would specify both in our callouts. For example, "ELL 90 LR, S/60, BE, MSS SP-75, ASTM A860 WPHY 60 WLD".
