Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone can explain the following discrepancy
API 5L X52 (not normalized) pipe classified as Category A in ASME B31.3 and if normalized falls under category B. Refer Figure 323.2.2A Note 3 & Table A-1
Same Pipe are generally classified as category B in ASME Sec.8 div.1 and if normalized falls under category C. Refer Figure UCS-66M note 2c and 3 b.
How come the same material can have different impact requirements when both the code are dealing with pressure containing components.
Thanks for all of your valuable input
