Hello everybody, I'm an Abaqus Beginner and i already read everything about this thing on the ''help'' but i can't resolve my problem.

I have to simulate a pin between two rigid body (100mm beam and 80mm beam), how can I do?

Thanks for your collaboration, it's very important for me.

Bye

So I will have a model like this :

X WIRE(MPC) X

And then I've to apply a Constraint???

Ok, consider the entire mechanism is like this :

DEFORMABLE BEAM 1 - RIGID BEAM (RP1) - PIN - RIGID BEAM (RP2) - DEFORMABLE BEAM 2 - SLIDER (RP3)

I have create MPC constraint like you say, now i apply ''constraints'' :

Rigid Body\Tie : Node of DB1 --- Reference Point RP1

Rigid Body\Tie : 1 Node of DB2 --- Reference Point RP2

Rigid Body\Tie : Other 1 Node of DB2 --- Reference Point RP3

Then I add the BCs : ENCASTRE of other node of DB1, U2=UR3=0 of RP3

Right?

only you can be the judge of whether what you are doing makes sense or not.

The analysis is completed, in my opinion it's exactly how I expected it; now I've to let see to my chief to confirm it.

Thank you very much :)

If there are any problems I'll wrote here :)

I use this thread to introduce an evolution of my problem; now I have to create two pins in this mechanism :

FLEXIBLE BEAM (encastred) - Beam 100mm (RP1) - PIN - Beam 80mm (RP2) - Pin - Slider (RP3, only x axis movement)

I tried to use MPC Pin between RP1/RP2 and then MPC Pin between RP2/RP3, it works but the results are absolutely wrong..

How can I do?

Thanks
