Hello,

I've struggled to find the workshops of the Abaqus AM Modeler plugin, I just found one. There is Abaqus in my university but I couldn't find the one who have access to the resources. Someone could share me the files or any learning resources, please?

Thank you for your help.

Check the help documentation of Abaqus e.g. Example problem manual. The blog by Simuleon might be helpful- "Use Abaqus to simulate additive manufacturing – printing a hip implant"

You can also register on 3ds site and can access/ask for resources available.

The AM Modeler plug-in is now built into Abaqus. But workshop files are still available in the Dassault Systemes Knowledge Base article "Abaqus/CAE Plug-in Utility for Additive Manufacturing Process Simulation". You will need a customer account to access it though.

Hi again,
I got the files from abaqus base knowledge. Now I have a doubt about something in the event series generator.
Do you know what "roller_pad_dimension" mean? I found that is the extent to which the roller starting point and endpoint are extended from min Y and max Y coordinate of the model for each layer (value between 0 and 1) from another post. But I still don't understand or visualize the meaning. Could you detaily expilan it, please?

Thank you for your help.

Try running the script with a few different values of this parameter and see how it influences the generated event series (the AM Modeler plug-in can visualize it). From what I understand, it’s just a sort of roller’s offset - how far it goes outside of the model’s geometry.

By the way, keep in mind that this script was designed for ReplicatorG and may not work properly or require modifications to be used with other g-code generators.
