Abaqus CAE - Slowness / Bugs

Hello,

I'm working on Abaqus CAE version 2018 and I have many issues of slownesses and bugs.
I have compressed the EF model by the option "compress model database" to reduce the size of file.
The size of my CAE model is equal to 20 Mo, which seems "acceptable" to me.
But when I'm opening the model, I must wait 20 minutes to have access the EF model and work !!
Moreover, many operations (in the geometry module) like "create of face", "remove a face"...create bugs in the model / or the operation take many minutes, it's seems like simple things...
I don't understand why, if it's a problem of version, of configuration of computer...it's quite frustrating.

It’s most likely a fault of your computer. What is its specification ? Do other programs (like CAD software) run correctly ?

Honestly, I use only Abaqus since september, thus it is difficult to me to see if other programs run correctly.
However, I have already use Abaqus in 2020, 2021 and in the beginning of the year 2022, I have never seen this issues of slowness or bugs.
I specify that I didn't change my computer. Therefore I don't think that is the problem...

Do your disks (especially the one on which OS is installed) have enough space or are they almost full ? You could also try installing the newest fix pack for Abaqus 2018.

100 Go free for a disk with a capacity of 475 Go (when the OS is installed)
500 Go free for a disk with a capacity of 930 Go (when the EF model is created)

Configuration of the computer :
Windows 10 pro
Intel Core I7-8700K CPU @3.70 Ghz
RAM : 32 Go

All right, so it shouldn’t be caused by the limitations of the computer. Try reinstalling Abaqus, possibly use newer version or at least install fix pack for 2018.
