ABAQUS Column buckling analysis - Interactions

I am modelling a column with pin ends,using an eigenvalue analysis
i) End plates are rigid bodies
ii)Column is a shell element

I need to create an accurate interaction of the column(shell) and the end plates(rigid),but i am failing to get it right.
I used a surface to surface interaction connection.

What about a TIE connection using node2surface intersction? You should consider using more than one element for the column
