Hello,

I would like to assign a boundary condition where the shell elements do not bend even though there is a bending force applied. For example, a straight panel remains straight under an arbitrary load, but it may stretch or rotate. Is it possible to do so?

Thank you!

Use orthotropic material and define huge stiffness in that direction.

yes, there's a shell property where you define the plate bending stiffness as a multiple of t^3/12 so 100x, 1000x ??
but be careful, test it out. This is a long way from how they proved the element and could have unintended consequences.

Thank you both for the help!
