Hi all,

I did a simulation with Abaqus with 1 static load. After the simulation has been completed, my disk space decreased from 91gb of free space to 79 gb of free space. I checked the sizes of all the files (odb, cae etc) and they do not even add up to 0.5 gb. When I deleted all the files, I am left with +- 80gb. I did not do anything else when Abaqus was running. Does anyone know how this can be causes/where the 11gb of space went to?

Also, my computer froze during the simulation so I had to restart it. Can this cause the problem, maybe the crash recovery file is taking up space?

Kind regards

I think your first scratch files are still there because of the machine crash. Those are temporary files that are created during the analysis and deleted at the end.

Look at your scratch directory, which is on Windows by default at c:\Users\username\AddData\Local\Temp or enter %TEMP% into DOS command.

Hi Mustaine,

Thanks for the help, I did not know this. I found the files which added up to 10gb and deleted them.

Kind regards
