Hi there,
I am modelling the compression of a cellular material (lattice) in Abaqus Explicit.
Part modelled using C3D10M elements
Plates modeled as rigid analytical surfaces with penalty method contact between the plates and the part mesh nodes (works fine).
I have used properties of Ti64 with Johnson Cook Damage and linear damage evolution with energy based fracture criteria (see below).
I have selected the following Field output requests: A,CSTRESS,DMICRT,EACTIVE,EEQUT,EVF,LE,PE,PEEQ,PEEQVAVG,PEVAVG,RF,S,SDEG,SEQUT,STATUS,SVAVG,TE,TEEQ,TEVOL,U,V,
Since DMICRT and SDEG are included, I was hoping that elements would accrue damage and then be deleted once DMICRT (or JCCRT) reached 1 for the whole element and SDEG=1.
Instead I see JCCRT and SDEG exceed 1 for elements and they become overly distorted instead of being deleted from the model (see below).
Any help would be much appreciated, is this a common issue or is there perhaps some output request I have not selected correctly?
