ABAQUS job shows "Submitted" but it's not "Running". any idea about fixing this

Hello,
When I submit my model for analysis it shows "Submitted" then does not show any progress. I waited overnight for a model but it does not show any progress.Usually, the same model shows "submitted" for several seconds then shows "running" and give me the results. I run the same model for several times. If I turn off ABAQUS then re-run the model it "Aborted" for
.lck file. I deleted the file and tried to re-run it but no luck. Can anyone advise me for solving this issue?

check the .log file. it sounds like it might be waiting to get a license. is anyone else using the licence/tokens?

How to check .log file? we have 2 license for Abaqus and I am using 1 license.

Hi,

It happened to me few times. I resolved putting my notebook in airplane mode, that is, disconnect your internet.

You may have two licenses (which allow two users to use Abaqus/CAE), but to run a job you also need to have analysis tokens available. The amount of analysis tokens required depends how many CPUs you are using. At a minimum 5 tokens are required to run a job on 1 CPU.

When you submit a job, Abaqus creates several files in the working directory. One of those files is the .log file. In this file you will see information relating to the progress of your job. Your analysis may be waiting for analysis tokens to become available.

Disconnecting your internet connection will not help as you will no longer be able to connect to the license server. If you are using your own machine as the license server it might help as it will prevent other users from checking out licenses/tokens. Either way, not a great fix.
