ABAQUS Job Submission

ABAQUS is failing me.

I create a model, add boundary conditions and steps, etc. But I submit the job, and even after 30 minutes the job status still doesn't proceed from "Submitted" to "Running".

It's also happened when I followed an online tutorial word-for-word, so it's not just models I'm creating. It might be something to do with the memory attributed to the job, but I'm not sure how I should alter it to improve things. Also, the work directory might be a factor, but again I don't know what would help by changing it.

I'd really appreciate any help you could give me.

Do you have enough analysis tokens free? Are you connecting to your license server correctly?

Since I am relatively inexperienced with ABAQUS, I'm not sure what you mean by analysis tokens or the quantity I'm using. Where would I find this out?

Pretty sure I'm connected to the server, but I'll double check.

After you submit the job you should check the log file. You can find it in your work folder, it will have the same name as the job (but with a .log file extension).

The contents will have a bunch of stuff about the license server and the command line options but find something like this:
"Abaqus License Manager checked out the following licenses:
Abaqus/Standard checked out 10 tokens.
<2 out of 12 licenses remain available>."
If it doesn't have enough tokens available I think this will say that there aren't enough and it will just wait.

But,
I've also had this happen after Abaqus crashed and something didn't close correctly. Most of the time a restart of the computer is the best thing to do.

Hey guys,

Turns out it was a software problem and I wasn't the only one that was suffering from it. It's since been resolved.

I've come up against a new problem, though. I'm trying to model fabric weaves under concentrated loads, and currently the load is only affecting the yarn it was applied on. How do I set it so that all the yarns are interacting?
