I'm new to ABAQUS and simulations and therefore have been following youtube tutorials for learning. I do the exact things done in the videos still, when generating a mesh, my mesh comes out to be different from the video's. Why is this? Should the meshes not be same? I'll add screenshots for comparison. The upper one is from the video and the lower one from me. The differences are maybe subtle in this one but for others it is greater.
P.S.: I'm new to this site and this is my first post. Please don't bash me for any silly mistakes and kindly let me know. Also the youtube link for the video:

There might be some differences in setup your model when compared with the one shown in the video (regarding partitions or mesher settings). Make sure that you use the same meshing algorithm and seeding as in the video. But it's not that important to keep the mesh (almost) identical if you just want to get good results. Verify the mesh quality (Abaqus has a tool for that) and adjust settings if needed.

thanks for your reply @FEAway. Should I then continue learning from the tutorial videos and not worry about the mesh being different? Also, do you have any suggestions for books, literatures, etc I should follow?

Yes, just make sure that the mesh has good quality and proper level of refinement, especially around the region of interest (crack in this case).

There’s a small selection of useful books about Abaqus and they usually deal with specific topics (like composites or geomechanics). Documentation and examples it contains are definitely the best sources for working with Abaqus. Apart from that, YouTube tutorials like the one you’ve found can be helpful when you want to analyze some particular problem. Also, check Simuleon’s blog, the articles regularly published there are very interesting.
