I'm looking for the Indentifier Key to output the Spring force variable from my model to the dat or odb file.
Does anyone know what the variable I'm looking for is?
Cheers

Not sure I understand 100 % what you mean but here goes.

If you want to obtain the spring element force you just request:
*ELEMENT OUTPUT
S

The S11 component is the force in the spring.

Hmm, okay thanks. I have requested ELEMENT OUTPUT, S, but then how do I see the S11 component? I am viewing the results from the .odb file in META.

Sorry I do not know what META is, and even if I did I would not be able to help you (remember this is an ABAQUS forum).

In ABAQUS you just select stress (S) and the S11 component.

Okay that is fair enough, this is the first program I have used to view ABAQUS outputs so I just assumed it was fairly common. I do not know how to see the S11 component, all I can output is Stress (S) for each element and view the scalar results as with the fringe.

If anyone knows how to view stress components S11 in META I would greatly appreciate it.
