ABB REG 316*4 Communication

Hello. I have to translate stator earth fault settings from REG 316 to the newer model REG 316*4. I do not have the optical cable for communicating with PC. There is also a serial port at the back of the new relay. However, the relay is not communicating using the serial port (I used a 9pin serial to usb cable). Can anyone guide me regarding this?

Try a null modem adaptor. They make small DB9 adaptors that fir right on the serial cable. Else you can modify an existing serial cable to swap the TX & RX pins.

I don't think you can use the rear serial port to change the settings. Only the front optical port.
