Abbreviations I.F. & O.F. for reinforcement 1

See attached section view of a concrete wall. I'm studying an old foundation reinforcement drawing and seeing (I.F.) and (O.F.) next to the bar callouts. I'm fairly certain it's "inside face" and "outside face." Can someone confirm that? I haven't been able to find a cover sheet or table for abbreviations.

Pls check ..There could be a legend .. I have seen similar abbreviations..

E.F.= Each Face
N.F.= Near Face
F.F.= Far Face
..

Agree with others, but for showing bars on an elevation, I prefer N.F. and F.F. See HTURKAK above.

hokie66, I definitely agree there. This was a drawing from the 1970s. The I.F. and O.F. took me a minute to wrap my head around about which was which. I took I.F. = N.F. and O.F. = F.F. with the way the section was cut.

Yes, that's what you have to do. Refer to the section. And the sections are probably the only place you can find whether horizontals or verticals are outermost.
