Dear bros,
I downloaded this document from the website: There is a problem when I read about example of slip-critical connection.

I don't really understand what the note said. It seems that after slip-critical checking, the bearing-type checking must be performed. Is that right?

You should think of slip critical as more of a serviceability limit. But, the strength limits (i.e. bearing and such) still apply.
 
In case the friction grip disappears either by excessive force or other actions the connection still needs to take the ultimate forces by bearing.

Thank for your helps. However, I still do not receive the answer that I expected. I am caring about bolt connection design. And according to AISC equations of slip-critical bolt connection, I can design a connection that is stronger than connected members (This can not do if calculating as bearing type connetion). This is very useful in establishing a standard connection library and I can chose existing connection without caring about inner load in connected members.
However, according to the upper note, I still have to calculate the connection as bearing type ???
I am so dumb in this problem. Please help me!!!

Both responders answered your question - Yes, you still need to check bearing on slip critical connections.

It is also required per the specification section J3.8: "Slip-critical connections shall be designed to prevent slip and for the limit states of bearing-type connections."
