Hi There,

I have gone through the thread written on FE by waskillywabbit but I have some different problems !

I am a graduate in Microbiology and than I did Masters in Biochemical Engineering. I really liked it! It is so fun to be an Engineer but at the same time it is difficult and it brings lots of responsibilities.

I am working in Canada, Alberta. I was searching on net about the FE. I really don't know much about it. What I would like to know from you guys is

Is there any selection for the topic or I have to preapre all the topics. I mean Civil, Chemical, Mechanical etc. Do i need to know all of them or Chemical will do ! I saw biology as well so if some can explain be about the elective if there are, it will be great help.

Thanks a lot in advance !

The morning part of the test covers general engineering information. A few questions from all engineering displinces. In the afternoon you can choose to take a test specific to a certain displine or take another general test.So in the afternoon you can opt to take a test that is specific to chemical engineering.

I will add that your BS is going to hamper you a bit. The morning portion of the exam WILL contain questions on heat transfer, boilers (thermo of some sort), basic electronics, and statics. These are usually topics covered in your first 2-3 years of undergrad. Before taking the test make sure you do some serious learning in these areas as the absence of a BS?E is going to make things a little tougher.

This is of course assuming the canadian test are the same as the US ones.

When I took mine I did rather well 16 out of 1400+ so I am not sure I can give you advice on how hard the questions will be. I can however direct you to the topics that you will need to brush up on.
