Hello,

I would like to know if there´s any quality steel I could use instead of 34 CrNiMo 6 . The material must have similar mechanical properties and similar chemical composition to 34 CrNiMo 6 ( +/- same contents of C, Ni, Cr, Mo) but with a simple process of welding (without preheated material, etc).

I would really appreciate any help with this.

Thank You

4340 may be close enough to 34CrNiMo6 grade steel with slight carbon variation.

With carbon at 0.4% you need to have all precautions during welding. There is no way out .
