AC or DC for PAR36

I'm using 12v, PAR36 as emergency lights. Instaed of using the typcial bugged eyed unit i will have thefixtures mounted remote and fed through an inverter system which operates at 120v. I will be installing a transformer to step down from 120v to 12v. Can the PAR 36 operate on AC voltage?

I'm not sure about the AC, however; many vendors offer (out of the box) remote heads and backup battery. Might be a cheaper alternative than using inverter system. If you are subject to the NEC and NFPA-101, then the entire emergency system back to the battery system must meet NEC-700. Might be worth checking into if you haven't already.

Yes. PAR lamps are incandescent lamps with resistive filament and it will not care if the voltage is AC or DC. It will work the same.
