Hi,
In the commentary of chapter 9.2.4 of ACI 350.3, an equation is given to solve for the stiffness of a fixed-base, open top tank. The formula is as follows:
k = Ec/48 * (tw/h)^3
My question is, should the units of the thickness of wall and h cancel out (ie using like units)? Or, should I maintain the original units defined in chapter 1 (tw defined in inches and h defined in feet)?
Thanks.
