actually, I am here to know how to size the pipe on the pipe heat tracing system. my product line is 130 deg c. I want to maintain these temp till the delivery end. min. ambient temp is 0 deg c. 12 " line running 100 m, long carbon steel pipe.50 mm mineral wool insulation provided. to compensate heat loss terminal oil passing through another carbon steel pipe above the mother pipe. now my question is what size to be lay over mother pipe and no. of tracing line. Therminal oil inlet temp 250 deg c at 5 kg/cm^2.please help me.

You will also need to know therminol oil rate.

Vendor can usually size this whole thing for you.

50mm insulation at 130C isn't a huge amount, but then you've only got 100m so may be ok.

the oil rate is 36kg/hr. and i have other different size pipe and different length. 4" 15 mtr long, 6" 100 mtr. long and 8" - 7 mtr long, 10 inch 125 mtr long. help me to get size of heat tracing pipe and no of tracing line required .
