Hi,
i need to find a economical way to operate a master cylinder for a project I am working on. I only need a inch or so of linear travel and the force required is less than 10 lbs. The voltage I have to work with is DC and can be anything up to 24 vdc. I prefer 0-10 VDC.

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg (uswt),

If you have difficulty finding a proportional actuator for your project, I may be able to help you configure something that will work. I’m assuming a stepper is out because of the need for a full-retract mode of operation in the event of a power loss – correct?

You can get a complete system in perhaps one day from Intelligent Actuator for about 875.00. They run 24vdc with closed lood servo control, 16 programmable positions and can even be used as a crude type of load cell or clamp. they take about 2 minutes to program and can even be taught positions.
