hi

i'm trying to optimize the front suspension bushing stiffness constituents in a full vehicle model in adams/insight?

when i look into the factors of the said bushing i can't see the stiffness factor. the image is as below:

how can i do that?

how can i optimize the bushing stiffness or the spring stiffness in adams insight?

how should i define that variable and what kind of variable should i define for adams/insight???

please help

f_0158 and f_0178 and so on look like they are the scaling factors. As to the rest, I assume you have done the tutorial. You need to select some factors, set levels for them, select some responses and then generate a workspace.

thanks a lot Greg Locock for helping a lot as always

but can i have the stiffness parameter itself since i have selected the linear bushing which uses constant parameters, as the Insight Factors?

how can i define a variable for bushing stiffness in adams/car for which i can have a factor in Adams/Insight and optimize that factor?

thanks for your help

If you've got non linear bushes then scaling factors are more useful. However if you want to switch between bush curves directly you probably need to be looking at f_0161, I have no experience with that approach.

Since for bushings and springs in Adams Car, the characteristic is set only through the properties file, then try to build and refer to the "y = x" graph. And then change Scale Factors to Adams Insight. Their value, in theory, will be equal to the stiffness

thank you Greg Locock and newbie_user for helping

great help

appreciate both of you guys
