Hi guys, I want to know if there is a method to modify the model configuration (change a damping coefficient for example) DURING a simulation in Adams View:
for example, when my model touch the ground I want to modify the spring coefficient.
I made it with sensors, but the problem is that I can't use them because they will act on the same script and this is a problem for my job.
Please help me.
Thankyou

Look at ACTIVATE and DEACTIVATE in the help. You could use a non linear spring, if that is a better model of your system.

I wanted to use ACTIVATE and DEACTIVATE but the problem is that in the ACF script it is not possibile to write an expression IF-ELSE.
GregLocock do you have some advice for me?
Also, I am trying to use a non linear spring but adams give me this error for the damping coefficient
Cattura_vfbdrj.png

while using this command: AKISPL(.modello_leg.SPRING_1.deformation_velocity,SPRING_1.damping_coefficient, SPLINE_1, 0).
I don't know why.
Can you help me?

Thankyou so much

You could introduce an additional damper that only actuates while it is in contact with the ground. In the /Car help a jounce bumper is coded to do exactly that. Sorry I can't help directly, I don't have ADAMS.

Thankyou a lot Greg.
Can you send me this example in Adams Car Help? I did't find it.
