I need some assistance/advice. I have been task with adding new instrument nozzles to a CO boiler duct. My experience is mostly in pressure vessels and heat exchangers, but since these nozzles are 2" and smaller I thought to use ASME nozzle design (I know it's overkill, but I thought it would be simple to use software such as CodeCalc to do it in, but it does not work out).
The design temp is 350C, design pressure is 5kPag/-2kPag, wall thickness was measured at 6.8mm and up, so a thickness of 5mm will be used to allow for some corrosion over time. Material is regular CS ducting plate. I tried digging into Roark's books, but I am quickly running out of time to submit the design. The nozzles have to be able to support a load of 14kg (instrument mass) at approximately 500mm from the duct wall, so supporting ribs would be added.
