adding new oil to transformer

Dear all,

We have a leaking transformer and we are planning to repair it but since we need to fill more silicon oil can we just add any transformer silicon oil to existing?

Yes, provided it meets the requirements for new silicone fluids in table 2 of C57.111. Just be careful not to mix silicone with mineral oil, or use any equipment for filling that was previously used with mineral oil. It will foam like an SOB.
