Adding strong steel behind the L bracket so it reaches rsj beam 1

Hi

I have lowered the floor in my building. So when I lowered the steel beam for some reason it ended up being about 7 mm to 10 mm shorter
So the holes in the L bracket would not line up, to line them up I added 3 L brackets behind the L bracket.

But someone has told me you have increased the leverage by 1 cm and more pressure will be exerted on the nut.

Can any one explain how much more pressure will be exerted on the nut and will it cause it to be unsafe

Also if I was to add a vertical wooden beam on the right of L bracket would that make it ok again

You have lengthened the lever arm by 1 cm, depending on the eccentricity under correct condition, the increase can be seem large or small. Can you replace the upper bolts with 1 size larger, and with at lease 2 or 3 threads beyond the nut in tightened position (check the code to see what exactly is required).

Yes you have increased the lever arm if I'm understanding your scenario, is it safe, who knows based on what's been provided. The whole arrangement looks suspect from your very poor quality photo. So like I mentioned, if in doubt get someone local to take a look just in case.

It could be caused by image distortion, the wood beam seems distorted at the end that causing the bottom face is shorter than the upper. It wouldn't be hurt to have an engineer looks the problem and propose a better/long term solution.
