It was easy to do in NX4, now in NX7.5 I cannot seem to figure out how to add the "All Around" Circle to the leader in a radius dimension. I see where it can be done if the annotation is added as a note but I'd prefer to not fake it in. Does anyone know how to do this in 7.5?

How eaxctly did you "easily" add an 'All Round' circle to a Radius dimension in NX 4.0?

And what exactly are you attempting to indicate with this 'All Around' circle? And is this something which is covered by any of the drafting standards which NX supports?

I don't have NX4 loaded any more so I can't go back and see how it was done. I have a part with a boss on it. The base of it has a radius. I needed to show a cross section to define the boss and call out the radius. I wanted to add the "All Around" circle to show that the radius goes all the way around the boss. Maybe its not standard and my drawing checker and my boss are going crazy... they marked it up.

When it comes to dimensions, if it's not supported by a recognized standard, it's very unlikely that we will offer this as an optional capability.

Just how much experience does either your boss or checker have? ASME Y14.5 shows how to dimension a radius properly.

From machinerys handbook, 26th edition, page 609, The "all around" symbol does exist.

Check it out.

There is no way to access the all round symbol with the radius dimension command (that I have found). If you want to use annotation to point to the rad, the symbol is available but of course this is a non-associative dim. If it is a round boss then the radius dimension is interpreted as being all around. If it is some irregular shape or even a raised pad (eg casting feature) then you can use the raduis dim command and then add appended text "ALL AROUND". Annotation and weld symbol are the only places that show the symbol is available.

I don't have a copy of the 26th Edition, Machinery's Handbook, but if you're referring to the same table, titled "Comparison of American National Standard Geometric Characteristic and Modeling Symbols with ISO Standard Symbols (ASME Y14.5M-1194)", which is on page 630 in the 25th Edition, Machinery's Handbook, this does not automatically means that this applies to Dimensions. I would suggest that as indicated by the use of the term 'Characteristic' and the inclusion of an extensive list of feature control symbols in the list, that this table was in reference to the standards for the use of GD&T symbology, where NX DOES support the use of the 'All Around' symbol.

Machinery's Handbook is NOT a standard! While it is a great reference book and does include very accurate information, you can not use it as a reference for a standard.
If ASME Y14.5 shows the all around symbol on a dimension, then it would be a standard and Siemens would be happy to add it to the options.
Not all ISO symbols have been incorporated into Y14.5, either.
