Hello,

I am designing a light-weight product to be mounted to the back of a car. The adhesive should mount quickly and be removable without leaving a noticeable mark. I plan to have the adhesive on a mounting piece with a removable strip for consumers to peel back and apply to the car.

What adhesives would be best?

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Is it at all important that your whatever doesn't fall off during use?

Yes, of course the adhesive must be reliable. The final product will not weigh any more than four pounds, and given that it is mounted on the back of the car, I don't anticipate air resistance will add much drag.

This is a very bad application for adhesive.

Most cars are dirty. Many users will not bother to clean off the dirt before applying your peel-and-stick adhesive. --> Adhesive failure.

Even if the dirt gets cleaned off, most cars have been waxed at some point in their life, and most wax contains silicone. Pretty much nothing sticks to silicone (which is why it's used for mold release). --> Adhesive failure.

Find another way.
