REF thread: thread561-384427

The GRX program provided in the reference thread is exactly what I need with 1 exception.
my data is comma delimited instead of space delimited. What in the code needs to change in order to accommodate this?

I've tried looking through the code but to no avail.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I removed the "UPDATE,DATA_FORMAT" text from the READ/ function.
This seems to have fixed my problem.

2 questions.
1) Are you on a very old NX version ?
- Newer versions can import point-files as a import function. ( NX6 in that linked thread could not, it was then a step in the create spline dialog)
2) It might be simpler to do this type of replace "space with comma" in either a texteditor ( such as notepad++) or Excel than reformatting the GRIP code.

Tomas

I use NX9. It does have an import points function but it doesn't create the curve through those points and also doesn't load multiple point files at same time.
Unless I'm mistaken.

Thanks for the feeback.

- the old versions of NX could read coordinates from a text file and create a spline through these. But it did not create point-objects.
( in case anybody wanted the point objects, the workaround was to create such a spline and then go point-set, spline points.)
Newer versions of NX can create multiple points in one go using the Import points, but it requires a separate step to create a spline using these points.
Keep in mind that points are quite often produced by some form of calculation, and when imported the accuracy of these points will likely produce a wobbly spline, fitting a spline to the points using a tolerance can produce a smooth and good spline. I have seen several splines created exactly through the points producing un-usable splines.

Tomas
