adjust orphan mesh from plane strain to plane stress 1

Hi,

Is it possible to adjust an orphan mesh from plane strain elements CPR8R to plane stress CPS8R elements? I changed the mesh in 'assign element type', however, it's not suitable to mesh the part. When I run the simulation, I get the warning:

Warning: New nodes or elements have been added to the mesh in instance
'LOWERPT-1' but are not included in any assembly sets or surfaces.

When I want to change the orphan mesh, I read about the feature Mesh - edit mesh, but I cannot find the suitable settings where I can change the plane strain to plane stress elements

It shouldn’t be a problem to change element type since these elements have the same geometry. You can try doing this directly in the input file.
