Aerosols question

Hi all! I was wondering if I could get some help on this one. Looking at a building that has some aerosols on racks up to 10'. Paints, degreaser solvents, adhesive, pvc cement (liquid can) and some HVAC flush kits. We don't get into a ton of this so just wanted some help if you dont mind. Single racks that will have other storage like hvac parts up to 15' but the aerosols and chemicals under 10'. Thanks in advance.

Get the appropriate NFPA codes for indoor rack storage of aerosol, flammable and combustible products. Based on the quantity of material, height of racks and types of shelves in-rack sprinklers may be required. Note that you may be required to buy more than one code from NFPA and these codes may be a bit pricey. Once you have all the facts on hand and before commencing on your project make sure that your fire insurance representative have a copy of your blue prints with all the calculations of sprinkler design, piping sizes and municipal water tests for their review.
You can also get on-line to NFPA to freely review the appropriate codes but reading NFPA codes is a beast so it is best to buy them.

Property Loss Prevention Data Sheet 7-31 Aerosol Storage, 60 pages of design information from an insurance point of view. They are free at FM Global website. As Chicopee mentioned you definitely want to reach out to the insurance carrier for input. Also look at NFPA 30B Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosol Products.

Based on the limited amount of info you posted you are dealing with a level 3 aerosol. When they burn they rocket the aerosol cans quickly spreading the fire. MANY warehouses have burned to the ground because of inadequate fire protection design. It goes bad very quickly!!!!!!!

Get a fire protection professional involved.

 
I want to thank you guys for replying. There are some Level 3 aerosols and looking at NFPA 30B with a ceiling height of 23' or so I would have to calculate a .60 over 2500 with a 11.2 head. They are storing at 5' in cartons on wood pallets.
