Hi All,

I have old air valves integrated with plastic check valve in the air valve outlet, size 1/2" brand SPANNER -POLLUX , this air vent is isntalled before house hold water meter, to improve& protect the water meter from air damages as our country depends on dis-continous flow for water distribution.
The problem that I need replacements of these air valves but the manufacturer have stopped the production years back, so please any one advise where I can find similar air valve.
Kindly find the attached data sheet for the air valve,

The Spanner-Pollux products is now included in SENSUS range, but some products are discontinued, as you say. try to contact them.

Additional advice: if you generally asks for suitable air release valve, ask for valve with couplings, diameter and building length according to your existing installation. From the drawings isit not possible to see/read construction and capacity (given by smallest opening diameter in air release way out). For replacement you need something not smaller in capacity than the given.

I would, contrary to drawing, have placed the air release some diameters in front of the meter, but this could also be OK if the meter is of the volumetric type (eg. full body of water contained within 'chambers' in the rotating device, no extra water allowed to pass 'around the sides' of an immersed propeller.)

Another idea (if allowed by authorities) is to replace by newer models. What does local authorities plan? You are surely not the only one with this problem?

Good luck!

Thank you gerhardl, I can copy extra information, it may help as per below:
this is special combination air valves which is being installed before domestic water meter , the domestic water meter is multi jet type class B, this type of meters has internal plastic impeller which is rotated by water flow and it accounts the flow on glass register, in my application the water flow is non-continous that means 4 days water feeding per week and 3 days the pipline dry, the problem that when the municipality feed the system the water push air towards meter impller this air affect the meter accuracy that you positive consume or ngative consume (+ -) air bcause meter rotate as per first air push before water comes , also this air make damages for the meter impeller that is why we should install this specialized combination air valve before the meter, this air valve contains integrated plastic non-return valve in the outlet of air valve which open in 4 psi presssure so the air valve will release the air before it affects the meter. as we only need measuring the water consumption in accurate way. this valve should be 1/2" size

Please advise what you mean by ( replace by newer models ) have you idea to change th existing system air valve with check valve and the water meter to new meter with integrated air vent or what pleas explain.

Hello gerdardl,
Yes ARI is very famous for automatic air valves and flow control devices, I know about this model METAIR , that perfectly can cover my application but the problem related the origin of ARI, there is boycott to deal with, on the other hand please advise if you heared about below link

If my understanding of attached technical explanation is correct, the test periodes are limited to 2 minutes, and giving an avarage deviation from true water flow of 14% with water and air mixed, and 38% deviation without water?

As your periodes with air only, and also for air/water mix, probably will be longer (?), and unknown in length to accumulated total throughflow in 'water-transporting' periodes, you have to evaluate if the total summed misgiving is acceptable.

What about a T-piece replacing the air release, with a standard air release valve mounted on top of the vertical part of the T. The upper part of the T could possibly also have a larger diameter pipe if the air release valve has a larger fitting diameter than the original 1/2".
