AISC E6 Built Up Members

I am hoping for some clarification/guidance on E6 is AISC. If I understand it correctly E6-1 for snug tight bolted intermediate connectors gives you Lc/r for the built up member. You use this in either E3, E4, or E7 to get your critical stress.
If this is incorrect please let me know.
The second part of my question is, for back to back angles we use one bolt through the back to back legs. I assume for back to back Tees you would use one bolt per side of the flange.
For back to back channels is it one bolt down the center or if there is room two bolts ( as I have seen)?
Basically is there a source that shows what is considered as a sufficient connection between the two members?

I am going through the same section. If you have a continuous lacing along the length of the column, would you still consider this to be an intermediate connector ? it is not really intermediate is it now ?

All,

AISC's Section E6 allows you to use E3, E4, & E7 as modified by the (Lc/r)m value. You are correct.

The intermediate spacing can be whatever a designer chooses as long as the dimensional requirements are met in Section 2. Per code, individual components of compression members composed of two or more shapes shall be connected to one another at intervals, a, such that the slenderness ratio, a/ri, of each of the component shapes between the fasteners does not exceed three-fourths times the governing slenderness ratio of the built-up member (as a whole). As long as this requirement is met the spacing can be whatever.

As for the continuous lacing along the length of the column the intermediate connection spacing will be the distance between lacing connection. E6.2.d of the AISC manual has additional lacing requirements.
