In Equation 8-9a of the AISC Steel Construction Manual E15 (pg. 8-13) is the Pu to be the x component of the force (Pux) if the force is applied like in Table 8-4 with load on an angle relative to the weld line group? And then should there be a y component value of the Pu force (Puy) for equation 8-10a? Or, do I use the full value of Pu in both of those equations despite the angle it is applied?
