I am to conduct an audit of a steel fabrication shop as required by the IBC special inspections section and per the structural engineer of records (SER). I am a CWI, I am sure of my ability to audit that part of their records. Is there a check list for the remaining AISC part of the audit process?

I have been to AISC's web site and have their certification check list but that seems much too broad (read: intrusive) for an audit per IBC.

If you were acting as SER what would you want to forward to the building official?

Thank you for you time and assistance with this.

The AISC checklist has no official standing other than in an audit conducted by AISC.

CWI = Certified Welding Inspector. In my case through the American Welding Society (AWS). Canada has a equivalent certification.
