There are four different alloys called 315, and six called 316.
You need to be a lot more specific, you need a material specification number.
Then you can look up chemistry and properties.
AISI hasn't assigned alloy designations in many years, find the UNS numbers and you will know.

I am not familiar with materials i just need a material to be used as HOT BLADE in Plastic industry. and i got a recommendation from machine manufacturer with these material AISI 315 AISI 316 and another said the following.
Austenitic stainless steel.
Its properties are: resistance to intergranular corrosion in the delivery condition and in the sensitized condition
Steel shall not be applied at a metal temperature lower than 196° C
is there any match between the description and alloy numbers?

There is a 316 stainless, but the other 316's and the 315's are steels.
I wouldn't think that you would use a stainless as hot blade, but you never know.

I was involved with a recent consulting job for a plastic recycler and they had a hot blade guillotine and shredder. There was no stainless steel blade, it was tool steel material with an engineered surface to improve wear life.

In pelletizing applications I have seen 440C used, sharp and enough corrosion resistance to keep an edge.
