We are using a 4330 V Modified, 17" diameter shaft that it is going to be welded (FCAW) with some A-514 steel ( low carbon ) pads on the surface, 5/8" thick with E81T1-Ni1M-JH4, 0.045 Diameter wire, 75/25 CO2, 3-4 passes typically required, (AWS A5.29-05)

C - 0.33
Mn - .47
Si - .19
Ni - 3.30
Cr - 1.21
Mo - .61
V - .107
P= .0007
S= .0001
Al= .012

What is the preheating temperature and post-heating temperature and duration of the cooling time for this material. Material was Normalized, A= 1580 F, Q and Tempered to 1100 F , Ultimate Tensile: 160000 PSI, Grain size 6. Somebody has the TTT diagram available for a similar material with similar content of 3.2 % Nickel and 1.25% Chrome to verify Martensite temperature ( Ms ).

I think the preheating should be under 600 F and the post-heating around 1000 F.

Any comments or ideas, thanks
