Does anyone have experience designing buidings in Albania? I have been looking for an english copy of the current governing structural design code, which i understand to be the KTP-N.2-89. From what i've been able to find this standard is technically the code in effect, but it seems that modern designs are designed to comply with EC and typically meet the KTP since it results in lower design forces. Since KTP-89 is so old I imagine there must be an online resource where it is translated in english, but i havent had any luck. any help is much appreciated.

Sorry, completely useless in this matter, I am only commenting so that I can follow this thread. I am super, super interested lol. I have familiarity with Russian/Ukrainian projects so I'm keen to see where this goes.

To the OP - Welcome to E-T.

Your "handle" though is causing some issues though. Is this a typo? You can change it unilaterally without loosing any data. It doesn't quite go with the normally professional engineer look...

On the subject matter, you need to find out what the local AHJ thinks about it. Some ex eastern bloc / oddball places like Albania still cling to the familiar and you need to show compliance to outdated codes (Kazakhstan is one). You usually find that there are a few companies specialising in submitting plans to the local AHJ in Albanian who check it for compliance to the local code or weird and wonderful regulation you'll never have heard of that they haven't got round to cancelling. Seems like overkill / double handling, but it pays dividends in the long run.
