For several days I noticed that forum.alibre.com was disabled. I finally contacted support today to ask what was going on. Apparently, they were updating the platform (or backend server, or something I'm not too familiar with) and the upgrade wasn't supposed to take very long, thus they didn't publish a notification before starting work.

They still don't have an estimated time to completion for when the work will be done and the site back online.

I'm glad it's not just me.

I just went here and found this message"
We're updating the forum to make a better experience. It may be down for a few days. Thank you for your patience."

Apparently the forum update was not as clean as Alibre hoped it would be, they said this yesterday. :

Hello everyone,

This update is as of 9/6 - we were hoping to have the forum migrated to the new software by this time, however there is one issue that is proving more difficult to fix than anticipated. Instead of leaving this forum off indefinitely, we're putting it back up until it is resolved.

Currently the users, posts, and attachments have been migrated. However, passwords cannot be migrated and you will have to, once we release the new software, request a password reset be sent to your email. Currently there is some issue with the password reset function that prevents that from working, which is holding up the release.

Please note that posts or any other changes made after 9/1 will not be migrated to the new forum as the core data migration has already occurred. So feel free to use the forum with the caveat that new information will not make it over to the new forum.

Sorry for the delay, migrating a forum as large as ours to a new system has proven to be a more frustrating experience all around than we would have preferred. Thanks for your patience.
