Alkalinity and Carbon dosing

I am designing an SBR, I need some guidance in designing the alkalinity and carbon dosing. Can you please help?

For the alkalinity, you must figure out the existing alkalinity from the influent raw wastewater and deduct the alkalinity loss associated with nitrification ( 7.2 lb Alk per lb Ammonia)and the required effluent concentration (approx. 70 mg/l).

I would also take credit for some (maybe 60%)denitrification, if you are designing for denitrification (3.57 lb Alk per lb Ammonia).

Metcalf & Eddy has a good example. I am a fan of using Magnesium Hydroxide for alkalinity addition but perhaps others can weight in.
