Hello,

May anyone advise that the allowable compressive stress (Euler's formula) for a circular flat plate (steel) under uniform
radial edge compression?

Im not sure what you mean. Can you provide a sketch?

Is the load uniformly distributed around edge of the plate in radial direction ? what is the edge constrains ? clamped or simple supported so , free to rotate ?

A sketch showing the support conditions and loading will be helpfull..

do you mean load and reaction along the perimeter ?

like any other plate ??

Formulas for critical unit compressive stress in case of a circular plate under uniform radial edge compression can be found in Roark’s Formulas for Stress and Strain. But they are different depending on boundary conditions - whether the edges are simply aupported or clamped.

Thanks you all.
I request the ALLOWABLE criteria to validate the buckling rather than how to calculate the compressed stress by Roark’s Formulas.

Pls find the excerpt from Ref. Roark’s Formulas for Stress and Strain;

I have the paper book, but somehow and somewhere I found in internet a PDF copy of the 2nd edition (the one I posted). I You are lucky, may be You can find it, same as I did

check that you don't exceed yield
