Aluminum anchor bolts and aluminum pans

Hello everyone,

I am working on a project (US market) where only aluminum products can be used. I am trying to find any information on the following:

1. Aluminum wedge anchors - manufacturer, specifications, testing ?
2. Solid aluminum pans/sheets - I am looking for a solid pan (to hold water leak) that has a 1" lip on its perimeter (could be custom-made) - again, I am looking for manufacturers and specs.
3. Alternatively, I could use an aluminum rod with suitable epoxy - does anyone know of such products ?
Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

#1- No clue.
#2- F&D head companies that make heads for tank ends can make a "flanged only" head that would fit your description. In small sizes, it'd probably be cheaper to have a fab shop weld a ring onto a piece of round plate. Or, if small, consider aluminum pie pans or other similar items.
#3- If you use aluminum all-thread rod, I would think any of the epoxies normally used with steel anchor bolts would work.

If these aluminum bolts need to be certified per ICBO or whoever, you may be looking at a lot of certification and testing cost for just a few bolts.

Aluminum and concrete don't play nicely.

True, but if there is sufficient epoxy coating to the alum rod (say a pre-applied and cured 1st coat) then it may not be as deleterious as alum-to-concrete contact.

As long as it's not damaged. There can be a bit of a corona effect at a damaged location. Just a caution.
