Hi , Just reading your thread ref the 2158 alarm . I have a 1212 1.5kw and we are getting the alarm .Did you find out what it was please .
Thanks

Hi Skinnedrabbit,

Yes and no ....

I had a local representative from Laser Experts take a look. Great people to deal with.

The oscillator was cleaned out and mirrors replaced. Two tubes had holes or cracks and we're replaced. The optical coupler was inspected and found to be not perfect, but ok.
A week later the machine was running perfectly.

Three days after that, the same error came back. I had a 5 ton paper weight again and mounting costs resulting from a complete lack of productivity.

The Laser Experts guy came out again and inpected the oscillator. It seemed fine.
There is a power sensor to the right of the optical coupler. He checked that as well as the connections to the board. It seemed to check out fine. Thesee items weren't replaced but when the machine was powered up again, it worked again. I have no idea what the problem was but suspect that it may be back again.

The 2158 error is very general and can indicate a number of problems. Pitty a trouble shooting type chart isn't freely available.

Ok thanks for that , I've bought ours and have had to replace the turbo, 1 power supply and now this . I'll get amada out and if they find the fault will let you know . Do you have the cutting parameters for 4,5,6 mm stainless . By anychance . For some reason they aren't on our controller [pre][/pre]Thanks rob

Hi Rob,

I do have them at the office. Please supply your email address and let me know what Amada have to say.

Have you checked the float switch in your chiller tank? or the water level? I had an instance last week where we were dropping HV and found the chiller was low on water. It was at the fine line where the float switch was making/breaking because of the water level.

Good point Sparky, It's worth a check.
Would a chiller alarm not present itself though?

I didn't have a chiller alarm come up, although I thought the same.

Hi , email is pipeinstallations@btinternet.com
Im waiting for fanac to come out to do a mirror clean first and will then have amada come out . Will keep you informed of what they find . Thanks))
