Is there a way to use the animated exploded view simulation and have it saved as a file that can be used on a web site? If not is there any ideas on the easiest way to do so?

One of the things you can do is to save the animation to a series of bitmap images, which can then be used by one of a number of animated gif creators, or flash animations can be made by some of the same applications. Make sure to make the image small enough that it won't be a huge drag on bandwidth.

The simplest way is to use eDrawings. It can Save as]/b] an html page which can then be viewed in a browser.

If you need it rendered, use PhotoWorks to render an animation, and save to a variety of outputs, such as Windows Media or others to compress the file size.

Otherwise, I think eDrawings saved as HTML format is certainly the simplest.

I faced the same problem recently. In SW06 the "Save as AVI" button on the animation controller remains inactive during exploded view animation. I thought there was something wrong with my installation. I used a screen capturing software to record the animation. However its not efficient. Is there a way to save/capature series of images in a animation without much user interation?

I don't believe the exploded view animation is supposed to be used with the animation module. If SW06 is the same as SW05, the parts position and start & stop times are set from within the animation module.

Yes you can use it in SW06. I just wanted to show in a powerpoint presentation where every part goes in to the assembly. Animate Expand/Collapse is really cool for presentations.

[nodalDOF[/b] ... Yup, just found out you can do it with SW05 too. I have rarely needed to use the animator. Must start to experiment with it more.

I'm about to do one of those myself. Great feature on the new 06 Animator--headache before this release.

You can even have screws rotate out and disappear on the way toward the edge of the view--very cool combos of things you can do, as well as using the point-of-view camera.
