Hi all,

Is it possible to animate a section view transition? Meaning start with a solid part, and transition to a section view? Or animate configurations being enabled and disabled? I've tried different things but I'm not having any luck. Perhaps its not possible. Thanks in advance!

oh well, looks like a transparency transition will have to do! Thanks for the quick reply!

judging from the response, animating configs is a wanted feature..... :) It would be cool@

There is a technique to animate to a section view. You create a "dummy" part in your assembly and use it to cut through your model which in effect is animating a section view. The Animator tutorial used to show how this could be achieved. I haven't look at it for a while but it should still be in there?

thats pretty cool, what technique did you use to create that?

actually i figured it out. just using screen capture.

Yeah to animate a section view (you mean cut-away view, right?) you make a dummy part that consists of an extrude-cut only, and in the animation you move it into the assembly. You can edit the "feature scope" so that it only cuts through the parts you want it to.
