i have decided on 1018 as a core material. will hardening or annealing improve the performance of 1018 as a coil core material?

Hello AcmeTim,

I can offer 1002(.02% max. Carbon) core material. This will provide the lowest residual magnetism. (Oe) after a simple stress relief anneal. In fact, it will out perform the 1018 without an anneal. However, a stress anneal is recommended.

i would like the 1002 but its about 25 times higher than 1018 and im not sure the increase is worth the price difference
