Hello all,
I am currently trying to write a program which analyses a site based upon some basic user inputs (local material and labour costs, topography of the site etc) and suggests the lowest cost sanitation system for implementation. The program is aimed at slum and peri-urban development and so cost is of up-most importance. As a part of this program, I have designed 30 hypothetical sites on which I have modelled a piped network I am now faced with trying to make an estimate of the annual maintenance costs of a sewage macerator pump for the unfavourable topographies.
The options I am analysing are: Flat, downhill 10%, Downhill 20%, Downhill 30%, Uphill 10%, Uphill 20%, Uphill 30%, Slightly hilly, Moderately Hilly and very hilly. This program aims to offer a hypothetical cost ranking order for simplified sewerage, Septic tanks, Urine Diversion Dehydration Toilets or Pit Latrines. It is intended to be used for pre-feasibility so that money is not wasted through the investigation of unsuitable/uneconomical options.
As such, i need to estimate the annual maintenance costs of a macerator pump. If any of you have information regarding the cost of maintenance and preferably a cost of the pump so that I can base the annual maintenance on a percentage of the purchase price I would be very greatful
